Increase NPC Cost for BPO’s and Skill Books, pt 2

NPC Price Increases

Source

Blueprints or BPO’s

I’ve run thru various category of BPO’s on the Market and the only ones I can come up with that weren’t affected by the Increase NPC Cost are…

  • Starbase & Sovereignty Structure BPO’s (ALL).
  • Nanite Repair Paste BPO.
  • Under Manufacture & Research Components BPO’s: Hybrid Components BPO’s (T3 Ship Component Construction) & Station Components BPO’s.
  • Deployable Equipment BPO’s (Containers). Fairly new sets of BPO’s as many were recently added in a few Patches back for Retribution expansion.

Skill Books

The Skill Books I’ve noticed that haven’t increased in NPC price as compared to before, which are allot to look thru in all their categories are…

  • Sovereignty listed under Corp Management skills.
  • Planet Management Skills (ALL).
  • All Science skills relating to Invention for Invention Sciences and Racial Encryption as well T3 Subsystem Reverse Engineering Tech Skills.

As to what BPO’s and Skill Books even that may have been lowered in price at NPC… I have no clue as that’s hard to really tell.

NPC Price Variance

The price variance CCP Fozzie is likely indicating to is the one where previously if you bought a lot of the NPC BPO Stock and bought more than the quantity amount in stock listed for whatever your reason the NPC Price would jump up about 20-21% at that one specific NPC Station and only increase slightly from that point further. Why this was changed I have no real idea. But I wonder what kind of manipulation someone might have being engaging it that may have caused the change. No clue there.

For most NPC listing quantities its hard to buy out the listed stock when there are hundreds or thousands that get automatically immediately replaced at higher price, but its much easier to buy out stock when there are less than say 40 of the BPO’s at low-cost and less than say 8 or 4 listed. Or maybe coming behind someone who at the same station had previously bought 3 when the max listed is 4 and the NPC Price automatically resets higher until the price resets lower after a period of no or less activity at that specific station for that item.

So I’ve already noticed this change already buying up some stocks of BPOs and noticed the NPC price buying out the stock going up very slightly but not as noticeable in % as before. At first I thought it was odd or a bit lag delayed that the station price where I was at didn’t jump or spike as what i expect would be usual buying up the max quantity stock. It seems now, it only just goes up slightly above all the other regional listing.

But as far as I can tell those are the changes I’ve noticed. But who know what else have changed that no one else may have possibly noticed, that would be interesting.

In the end as I’ve thought before, this seems all like an ISK sink increase by CCP or by Dr E for some reason. Too much ISK in New Eden?

Increase “NPC” Cost for BPO’s & Skill Books

I hadn’t noticed this until earlier last night when I was just doing some market restocking of some blueprints. At first I thought it was a bit odd that what I knew off the top of my head the NPC price to be of a certain kind of BPO’s had in fact increased.

I looked at the price again and wondered if I was missing something. Nope, I wasn’t and all the stations in region has about the same price increase. So I curiously rechecked various other BPO’s I usually resell, and a few random ones. And almost all of them has some increase to some degree from various Modules to various Ships BPO’s. And I wondered how did I miss the fact that CCP had increased the “NPC” original price of much of the BPO’s on the Market. It can be hard at times to keep up with everything that changed in EVE as the changes can be many.

But many BPO’s seemed to have increased from somewhere around 5-12% but they all can vary. Some BC priced had doubled due to BC Teircide, but that one was kinda expected already with some BPO price increase with all the changes. So I checked other random ships BPO from Carriers to Dreads and all seemed to have had price Increases to their original “NPC” BPO cost. I started wondering where did I miss that, that’s a HUGE MISS! A miss to not have taken advantage of as well and not profit from it also. So being a bit more curious wondering what else might have changed I pulled up and checked some of the more expensive Skill Books from the NPC Academy’s to see their prices as well and they too had increased in price. At at that point it finally dawned on me just why exactly did my competition in a few regions has all of a sudden over last few days seemed to all have increased their prices on some Skill Books I also sold on the market. Not knowing what was up I went ahead with the modest price increase to not be a spoiler though I had no idea prices of BPO’s and Skill Books had increased.

So again out of curiosity I went and pulled up another window over the game window to find the recent and previous patch notes. I can’t recall seeing anything there that mentioned anything about these changes. But that’s cool at least i’m noticing the changes.

If you’re not in the business of often buying BPO’s or buying and trading BPO’s and Skill Books you might not have really noticed or even paid attention to notice the changes.

But am I the only one that missed this?

Did you miss this too? Or did you clearly know about this? Maybe you just learning about this as well.

Random checking at the time a Prophecy ship BPO went from about 225 Million ISK NPC original to about 580 Million ISK after the BPO price changes. That’s just one ship BPO among all the others that had huge increase in cost for teircide and many others with smaller percentage increase. Now you could have easily doubled your money there or profited good eventually selling your BPO’s.

Man I clearly missed this, what seem like across the board price increases by CCP to BPO’s and Skill Books. Did you catch the wave on this and profited?

I should have bought them last few extra BC BPO’s I needed a few weeks ago. That’s gonna cost me a bit now. And that Freighter BPO is gonna cost me even more $$, plus all the Components BPO’s as well I’m sure. OUCH!

Hmm, I guess the flip side positive of this is that if you got an Asset Collection of BPO’s, well they have gone up in value across the board just about. All if not most of them.

Edit Update 03/10/2013 08:40: I just found a resulting forum thread about Stealth NPC Price changes on the forums here.

More Interesting Times Ahead

Well we now have a NOTEC Cartel by HBC affecting Neodymium, to counter CFC OTEC with Technetium. I’d only heard of that Neodymium a few nights ago with some buzz chat in Traders Lounge, but I wasn’t all too sure what it was about. NOTEC Cartel will be affecting Nanotransistors supply and that’s certainly interesting it that its going to really affect T2 Production. T2 Ship prices are going to either go up or profit margin on T2 are going to be slim pickings.

My experience with Nanotransistors is in making T2 Components for making T2. I usually always make all my needed components myself. Making any the 4 Racial Microprocessors that goes into making a lot of T2 items is some the most expensive components that make up that entire T2 Module/Ship as components. And all that is made from some expensive Advance Moon Goo material known well Nanotransistors. I often choke when I look at the raw materials I have to buy to make Microprocessors, expensive stuff. You pay for it in the end.

It takes lots of expensive Microprocessors to make a lot of T2 Modules/Ships and that’s a good portion of the cost depending on item. Well there goes the 12 Guardians I had planed to make before I had to eventually source my supplies to make all them components.

Interesting times ahead I dear say.

Busy but Noting Interesting

Haven’t had a lot of time to get around New Eden recently, obviously. But some the stuff that I was up to recently.

  • Spent quite a bit of ISK more than usual recently acquiring all the other BC BPO’s that was not in my BPO Asset Collection to complete my BC set. As all the other sets of BPO up to that level were previously completed some time back and all BPO Researched. Except these new ones. A bit late to acquire but stuff to spend ISK on.
  • Updated lots of Regional and Interregional Market Orders. Lots and Lots of Competition everywhere on the market in the niche market I’m in. Somehow out of the blue they just start showing up. But that’s another story, so you can see EVEHermit on that one.
  • Bought up some 3 Billion ISK in Mineral Reserve for every day use stock to build stuff. Was intending to build some BC’s for coming Teircide. But I’ve had my reservations about doing so. Still I’m a part-time builder of stuff so I’ll need minerals anyway regardless to do stuff with.
  • Have some Market Buy Orders I had up to… buy BC cheap where I’m not building them and well resell them for profits. So far its been going well, modest little profit. Just something else in the ship flipping business.
  • Container was something I speculated in for Retribution Teircide, I just never talked about it as I had invested ISK into acquiring ALL the New Container BPO’s, did quick PE Research, No ME Research required just so your aware, except on one I remember. But had Invested some 350 M ISK or so into various ones and has them seeded in various locations in various regions. At this point ive made all my money back and have containers all over the place. They sell slowly but it adds up over time.
  • Almost all my Cruisers I build from Retribution have just about all sold and made ok profits. Got about a few of the Minmatar Logistic T1 that remain yet unsold, but nothing for me to worry about. It will sell eventually.
  • Nothing exciting really, its Market and Trade it’s not like it has Big Explosions and Pew Pew to talk about and make it sound exciting. But it’s all Market PVP.
  • I did cost that guy in Caldari Space who moved in on one my item lots of ISK moving into my Station. Trade Wars! We both suffered in profits under the same station roof. But it was a good slow fight as it was not about making profit as it was about making the other guy suffer. There was no Wallet Mail to talk about. Trade Wars are allot quieter.
