2012 In EVE Online, The Year That Was

2012 in EVE Online will go down as a year in which I didn’t set any goals or had any real goals I was striving for! When the year started I didn’t set any goals. It can be really hard to play EVE Online without goals, without something to aim for, something to chase to measure your progress as life keeps evolving in EVE Online.

I really didn’t know how much I was going to really play EVE in 2012 when the year started. I was preparing for a semester at the university taking a few classes around my normal daily work schedule. I didn’t expect to really have a lot of time to play EVE for the first couple of months of the year. It was also likely that I would have taken a break from the game as well to focus on my classes. I really didn’t know how it would work out either. So already looking ahead, I didn’t set any goals for playing or accomplishing anything in EVE for the year. The first half of the year kinda went a bit slow with reduced EVE playing time overall as a result. Yet in the end it ended up I kept playing EVE Online and throughout the rest of the year, with a bit of break here and there.

The Year that was 2012 in New Eden

New Eden continue’s to be an interesting place and all its happenings and turmoil. Looking back, I can’t really remember all that was really that significant throughout the year. At least without having to re-read my blog. I’m still in the same Player Corp I was in the year before. That has been so now for the last 2 and half years almost and actually enjoy being in my Corp with a good bunch of folks. My trust and responsibilities have somewhat grown in the time being apart of my Corp as well.

Managing Divisional Assets

Earlier in the year my CEO asked if I could help based on my usual activities and gave me a side project to work at whenever I felt like. I took it as a challenge somewhat as well something else to do daily. So as a side responsibility I was in charge of managing and growing any asset that was apart of my newly created Corp Division (Market Trade/R&D) and Wallet Division in the Corp.

Corp Wallet end 2012

Starting with almost nothing, and continuously reinvestment of all that Wallet profits in Market & Trade items slowly growing that Wallet to over 4 Billion ISK. That was utilizing my own Trade Slots thus costing me the opportunity to not use those slots for personal and riskier trades. For a small side project I think that was a success in something to do to help my Corp in some other way. If I hadn’t made that ISK for the Corp that would have added to my own profits for the year.

The Rest of Things

There were no shiny ships bought. But the way it worked I usually build all my own ships to fly or use if I can help it. I’m just really not that into ships like most other players. I’m more into acquiring and growing assets, than more ships in general. My main character Ametius learned to fly a Caldari Freighter this year. That was more for the purpose of logistics if he needed to do so for Regional Trading. He never did acquire a Freighter though. Wasn’t really a need for one. After all his brother Alothos does most the Trading these days and most of the logistics when needed. Ametius did learn to fly some other new ships I’m sure, but they weren’t that important for me to even remember what they were this year. He did train up quite a few skills to lvl 4 for Spaceship Command in the latter part of 2012.

Alothos did learn to fly a Drake Battlecruiser working on R&D Agent Corp Standing in the beginning of the year. That was mostly missioning for the NPC Corp Lai Dai to up some Standing for Datacore Research for Invention. He did learn to fly an Orca, he even bought one which was purely for logistics purposes also. It barely ever get used. But that’s ok, it’s there for when it’s needed. So ships weren’t much of a priority in 2012.

Memorable Moment of the Year

I probably had the biggest Trading losses this year so far, probably the biggest ever. With more money to Invest in stuff, you also have more money to potentially loose as well if things go south. That occurred when high end Minerals and Morphite was way up in the spring of 2012. Jita Burning event occurred at the heights of the high end Minerals Bubble and Speculation. I was trading lots of Megacyte, Zydrine and Morphite at the time and making good profits. I also had the largest amount of Investments in high end Minerals ever to date at that time also. I lost somewhere in the ballpark of 3-5 Billion ISK with the long siege on Jita.

That market ripple ended up crashing the high end Mineral Market and my local regional market which turned out was being mass manipulated into a bubble by major Null Sec Alliances right up to Jita Burning. Those Null Sec Alliances made out big cashing out before the big market crash. And in the process I lost s few Billions of my own ISK and several Hundred Million ISK of Corp Wallet Fund I was managing as a small side project. So spent a few months making up for the losses. That was probably the biggest event of the year, chaotic in the market and was exciting times as well.

Regional Trading

I’m not a Jita Trader or any the other three big Market Hub Trader. The year began doing Regional Trading across 5 major regions of High Sec Space including Domain, Kador, Kor-Azor, Khanid, Tash-Murkon. It ended with Regional Trading across 6 major regions of High Sec Space picking up Trade in The Citadel Region (Caldari Space). And the truth is Regional Trading is a lot of work! Its more work to me than Station Trading where you sit in station all day mostly or login session and just trade like a Day Trader, never leaving the station. Kinda like  some Jita Traders. I just find it more fun to travel around the regions and see whats needed or in short supply wherever and intimately learn some of the trade dynamics and economics of a region.

I’m not fond of being stuck in a station trading. However covering 6 major regions doing Regional Trading you can imagine is a lot of Star Gate jumps involved and allot more jumps if you actually had to visit specific stations in those regions delivering something to that system station. That’s part of the fun for me. But in 2013 it might be good to be able to do less of it as it’s a lot of work and time spent warping all over the place through all those regions.

Skill Training in 2012

Ametius: 46951449 Skill Points.

Alothos: 42061719 Skill Points.

For Ametius the year started still training lots of Advance Science skills pertaining to R&D and Invention skills (T2), and are they a lot of them. Got all those skills to lvl 4 at minimum which allows being able to do Invention & Production across all 4 empire items on everything that can be T2 Invented. That finished up somewhere around spring time 2012. Spent some time training some Capital Construction skills for a while as well. Then for a few months trained even more R&D skills yet again for T3  Reverse Engineering & Production. So at this point can do all Reverse Engineering of Sleeper Technology Artifacts. I think still need some 25 days or so of training for something else before can do the final assembly to build any of the T3 Hulls.

It can be a juggling act with training needed skills! Spent rest of year patching up lots of potholes in various amount of skills that had been neglected for some time in the time it took to train so many Advance Science skills. Patched up lots of training in Gunnery skills to use T2 S/M/L Laser Turrets and T2 Laser Crystals. As well train up Missile Skills to be able to use various T2 Launchers and T2 Missiles. What remained of the rest of year was spent training Spaceship Command skills including Battlecruiser 5 and Destroyer 5 to take advantage of the planned changes by CCP coming soon to those skills. As well some other Spaceship Command skills trained to lvl 4 as well.

Alothos spent the early part of 2012 training and gaining Standing to use NPC R&D Agents for Datacore Research for T2 Invention use. That was way before Faction Warfare changed and had its impact on the Datacore Market in the Summer of 2012. Since then he’s been training up numerous amount of skills for Industry, Manufacturing, R&D and various amount of Spaceship Command skills. And though he now by far makes the majority of all the T2 items he’s not quite as capable of actually Inventing all those same items as his older brother Ametius. Nor can he quite make everything as well either as yet. But I guess the plan eventually is for him to eventually be able to handle all T2 R&D & Invention as the prime T2 producer.

Faction & Empire Standing

Alothos NPC Standing 2012That’s the standing of my Trader Alothos with Empire since his brother Ametius has much higher Standing with Empire and various NPC Corps overall.

Only time Alothos had really done Missions was for raising Standing with NPC Corp Lai Dai to raise Standing to access NPC R&D Agents to lvl 4 to gain access to Datacore Research for use in T2 Invention. And that was more the purpose of it all. And since then haven’t ever done any more NPC Missions to affect Standing with Empire or NPC Corps.

Yet though most players don’t really think about it where NPC Standing again comes into play is with Taxes. Both characters have max skills at lvl 5 for Accounting which affect Sales Tax and Broker Relations which affect market related costs by NPC Broker. Taxes add up! Taxes add up even more when you’re doing hundreds of millions and more in market transactions.

Taxes, who like Taxes...

Taxes, who like Taxes…

And the only way available to pay even lower Broker Taxes is to have reasonable high Standing with Faction/Corp which affect Broker Taxes across the board to all NPC Corps in Empire who’s station you may trade. Or you may have High Standing with more specific NPC Corps who’s standing you affect directly and thus they allow you lower Broker Taxes on Market Transaction Trades at their stations. Not something most players seem to worry about or take note of unless your a Trader. But the bigger and complex your web of Market Trades get, Taxes eat into your Profit Margin big time and it adds up to allot of Taxes paid.

Trade TaxesSo one the things I’d like to do is likely increase standing for Alothos who still pays reasonably high Broker Taxes. Lower those Broker Taxes a bit across the board to below 0.5% at the select NPC Stations most of his Trades occurs. Be great if can get it to 0.4% for Broker Taxes at the station he trades.

Right now at best he’s paying 0.51% Taxes in Broker Taxes and that’s at one of the NPC Station he has the highest Standing. So for 2013 its something to try to work at to lower Broker Relation Taxes.

Assets and ALL That Other Stuff

More Station Hangar Assets accumulated and more ISK was invested in 2012 in other Assets to facilitate Trade and Industrial activities across the board.

Station Hangar Assets 2012

Lots was spent on Blueprints and Blueprint sets of all kinds and all that other stuff in 2012 that helped in some way to help to increase ISK and value of Assets overall. A huge amount of Blueprint (BPO) Research in 2012 resulted in the vast majority of those Blueprints completing ME/PE Research to acceptable levels to increase their production value. Compared to 2011, I’m not exactly sure what exactly I had in Assets but it was allot less than in 2012.

Hangar Blueprint Assets

Many of those Blueprints were bought for the explicit purposes of Copying and making Blueprint Copies for use in Invention and producing T2 modules/ships. In the end most of them all completed ME/PE Research as well.

Hangar T2 BPC Assets

With the amount of R&D and resulting amount of T2 Invention activity that occurred through the year, the amount of  T2 BPC greatly increased. At the end of the year audit that resulted in about 791 T2 BPC’s that have yet to be produced. That represented many thousands of various Datacores that were obtained for both character from R&D Agents. And instead of being sold on the Market for profit, those Datacores were actually used in Invention Research for items intended for later production. Items likely will be produced 2013. But currently they represent locked up ISK value yet to be produced.

Research Agent Datacore Research

Some 190563 RP for Research Agent remains uncollected as of the end of 2012. That’s roughly 3811 Datacore’s. Since changes went into effect for Faction Warfare prior to Summer of 2012 Inferno Patch, no Datacores have been collected for T2 Invention use since. There was no point in doing so since there is currently still enough stock in hangar available to use. Yet there is also no great need for allot more T2 Invention either at this point. There is already more than enough T2 BPC that will need producing than I’m likely to produce. Datacores as well have greatly dropped in value since the Faction Warfare changes.

Overall Personal Assets end of 2012

Based on the Station Hangar price value that shows up when an item is in Hangar, I decided to do a rough Audit. And many and most items will be worth much more than that especially already researched Blueprints.

T1 BPC’s intended for Invention – 7828 Value Unknown

T2 Invented BPC’s – Value Unknown

Station Hangar Assets – About 14.5 Billion ISK

Market Sell Orders: 12 Billion ISK

Market Buy Orders: 0.0 ISK

Cash Asset: 38.7 Billion ISK

Total Assets: 65.2 Billion ISK (Rough Estimated Audit)

Wallet Value end 2012

For now Ametius finishes out the year just trying out and get acquainted to living in WH Space for however long that is to last.

I’m not sure just how things will play out for 2013 in EVE Online, but overall in the big picture of things that’s how it played out in 2012.

Hostile Agent, Dark Universe & Manticore’s

Trader Alothos has recently started working on increasing empire standing (Caldari/Amarr) and with a R&D corp to make the skills he has learned some time ago in Research Project Management useful. He’s been doing quite a bit of trade stuff around New Eden for a year now but other than also having some fairly good social skills he doesn’t have any real empire/corp standing to speak ok. Also the need to increase standing to greatly lower brokerage taxes has remained an issue for some time.

He’s recently trained some Advance Sciences skills for R&D a bit different to his brother Ametius and can now access most lvl 2 R&D Agents and a few lvl 3 agents for Ishukone Corp. So a few days he ago spent some time in planning and now has 5 R&D Agents doing various Datacore Research. Most the new agents were with Ishukone Corp to start the required research fortunately. One other agent with the Gallente Corp CreoDron in High Energy Physics due to some difficulty in finding a suitable lvl 2 research agent. After a few days running missions for Ishkuone Corp raising corporate standing and now able to access lvl 3 R&D agents, needed to change most the R&D Agents again. All was fine until making changes to all the other Ishukone Corp R&D Agents until got to the last agent for the Gallente Corp CreoDron.

Unfortunately working at increasing standing with Caldari empire running missions for Ishkuone Corp though no mission was ever accepted against Gallente Federation damage was still being done to Gallente empire standing. Thus when Alothos warped in to the DreoDron station in Kador region to cancel recently started R&D research he was met with great hostility from his research agents that was only all too happy to see him not but a few days ago. Apparently now needed higher standing just to speak to agent. For unknown reason also couldn’t figure out how to cancel research at this agent who didn’t wish to speak to him. A few more quick attempts in the confusion to speak with the agent the universe just seemed to be acting all strange. Was like what the hell is going on. And not long after that it seems the entire universe suddenly went dark. Thought at the exact time was damn, the agent went mad and caused the blackout.

It seems that was the time that the CCP gods put out the lights on the entire universe due to the now famous internet denial of service attacks to their servers as of just over a day or so ago. You already know all about that and all its details so almost old news.

Much later on in time, light and stability from chaos returned to the universe. Again attempted to speak with mr hostile agent and seemed was now able to cancel research. Maybe missed something the first time trying to cancel research with a hostile agent or something changed after the fact i’m really not sure. But in haste to end R&D research now given the option ended up just canceling and not even remembering to redeem the RP points for what would have been just 9 Datacores for High Energy Physics. Only thought about that like 2 sec after abruptly ended the research with the agent. Was just glad to get out of his view let alone his station anyway and on way to visit a more friendly R&D Agent at Lai Dai Corp in Caldari space.

Invention research continues has again commenced back at the Ardent Scientific Research Lab and have now made some scientific advancement in inventing the first of Stealth Bombers. Recent invention research has now produced 3 Manticore Stealth Bomber blueprints. Well 3 out of 10 jobs more specifically. I guess I’m just glad that it’s not 0 out of 10, I would have been greatly disappointed. Some recent Copy Research facility work has completed and that has freed up an extra lab space to increase invention jobs to at least 6 dedicated facility slots. So commenced work on attempting to invent 6 more Manticore Stealth Bombers.

So far the research lab progress on inventing T2 ship blueprints has yielded 4 Anathema, 6 Buzzards and 3 Manticore’s. All to eventually be produced some point soon. Neural training in Advance Mass Production 4 will be complete in less than 5 hours at which point will have the increased capability to utilize a maximum of 10 manufacturing facilities for production needs. Thats a big change from having only just 5 just a few days ago.

Moving Along

Things just seem to be moving along though nothing all too exciting as compared to life as a pirate. Business throughout the trade network is growing and it seems if things just keep moving along will soon hit ten billion in ISK mark. I will probably get a bit excited about that. However competition seem to be everywhere as well which can and does affect profits.

Haven’t visited some of my R&D Agents for a while in more distant regions, so decided to spend some time making the rounds. After zip zapping across the galaxy collected somewhere about 650 Datacores. These Datacores will probably never never see the market since they will be consumed at the R&D Research Lab for Invention use. No change in R&D Agent Datacore research was also needed, so will probably be several weeks before visiting my R&D Agents again. Some agents more often than others probably. Getting back to the hanger I tallied up all the Datacores. I was a bit shocked to actually see that all together I had over 2300 of various amounts of Datacores for Invention use. That’s a lot of ISK.

Anyway the last week in R&D had some slight change to the normal plan at the Lab. My contract researcher completed ME Research on a set of Gallente and Minmatar component blueprints so I took return delivery of those after paying the contract bill. That completed my entire set of ME Researched T2 component blueprints. Made some changes at the Lab for next few days and completed the rest of the PE Research on the blueprints with more readily available facilities in system. That put off some amount of Invention work for a few days.

Sold the entire first test batch of Scourge Fury Missiles produced a few days ago which was 50K missiles in a non compete system after a few days. Made a profit and learned a few things in the process as always. All the Ballistic Control Systems II previously made all sold at their various locations except 8 in a backwater system in a distant region i’m exploring business potential. Most of the 3rd batch of 100+ Mining Drones II all sold at their various locations except about 20 or so that remain unsold in 2 different not too distant regions.

A good long time friend i communicate daily with needed some Scorch S, so made a full batch for him. After production made the contract and ended up giving him twice as much as he had asked for at the agreed price. He also accepted the contract before I immediately realized the mistake. But was ok with it since I covered my cost and being a good friend I was fine with it though he asked.

A corpmate also needed some Scorch L asked if I made them and if I could make him some. I had a few blueprints so got all the needed materials and made some needed components. Eventually placed some Scorch L in production for the corpmate’s order. With not much else in production at the time placed a few more full Scorch batches in production, ETF 14 days. Umm thats a while there. Somehow in all that process it really dawns on me how long it can take to produce different T2 items. But its all a learning process also.

One of the big problems was having was production capacity  with the ability to use just 5 Manufacturing lines. Made some changes in short-term training from advance sciences and decide to complete needed training for Mass Production 5 for increase ability to use more manufacturing facility’s. It was already tough to produce all the things needed for day to day needs and trade with just a few manufacturing lines. So purchased the text for Advance Mass Production (20 Million ISK) and started neural training. Should complete Advance Mass Production 4 in just a bit over 24 hrs. That will increase total manufacturing capacity to 10 production lines and make much difference in being able to produce more T1/ T2 items at a time as needed. In many ways it feels good to be able to Invent and produce Tech 2 items.

Ahoy Datacores

As the process of Invention rolls along I seemed to be consuming a lot of datacores in the process, whether the Invention attempt succeeds or fails they get consumed allot. More specifically was consuming a lot of Rocket Science and Electronic Engineering datacores for various invention jobs. One of my Research Agent currently commissioned to do Rocket Science datacore research wasn’t to far away. So quickly flew over to the system and picked up a good remaining supply of Rocket Science datacores. However none of my other Research Agents was currently engaged in Electronic Engineering research for datacores so had to acquire them by other means.

Checked the regional market and only a few Electronic Engineering datacores was on the market some 4 jumps away. So stargate jumped thru a few systems in the other direction to buy a few the datacores for a few immediate Invention jobs. Needed to head to Jita for some other reason so figure I could buy allot more Electronic Engineering datacores there also. Bought a bit more datacores in Jita for the trip back home for Invention use. On my way back to home region I figure maybe I should check Caldari space for the same datacores. I found some on the Caldari market not to far away and much cheaper than in Jita so bought allot more.

Running a lot of Invention jobs by next day I was already almost out of Electronic Engineering datacores again as jobs lasted just over an hours length in time. With barely any of the needed datacores left in region I headed off to Amarr. Barely any of the datacores was on the market in Amarr and the ones there were at a much higher price on what seem like an old sell order. These datacores must be fairly popular. So I decided to head back to Caldari regional space to system where I bought some datacores the previous day. All the low-priced datacores I saw the day before were all gone but even the ones I now saw at higher price were at what I consider a good price. I didn’t need as much the datacores as was on the market in the system. But I proceeded to buy out the entire system anyway of the Electronic Engineering datacores that I needed, about 41 million ISK worth of datacores. Crammed as much the datacores I could fit into my tiny Covert Ops frigate ship and headed home. Would have to come back and pickup the rest of the datacores sometime later.

Heading home passing through Domain region and just a few jumps from Amarr I decided to check the market for some my other orders on the market and curiously check the price of the Electronic datacores on the market . There was now almost no datacores on the market in Amarr. I though for a quick few seconds in mid warp to stargate. I changed navigation at next gate and headed straight to Amarr and placed all the datacores I had just bought on the market in Caldari space at a bit higher price in Amarr. I’m still a trader when it comes to making ISK. Then I headed back to Caldari space to pick up the rest of the remaining datacores. A few short hours later someone bought out all the datacores in Amarr and netted me about 24 million ISK in profit. Not bad. I had just gotten in the opportunity window on the market in Amarr before a capsuleer later dropped several thousand of the Electronic datacores on sell order and then several a few other capsuleers dropped several hundred datacores each sinking the price way down. A few hours to later would have completely missed that trade opportunity.

Apparently I didn’t have enough Electronic Engineering datacores from the remaining few that I had kept and a few days later needed to buy some more. I figure I better invest and buy allot more as i keep running out of the Electronic datacores. So on my route to Jita I found a system just off my route and placed a system wide order for about 250 of the datacores I needed on buy order. Eventually got that order filled just short of a day later and cost me about 45 million ISK or so for the datacores.

In between getting that order filled In Caldari space I  was thinking where else can I maybe get a supply of the datacores besides having to go to Jita and fight on buyorder to get it filled. Then I remembered one of my favorite WH dweller friend Penny that writes an awesome blog over at Tiger Ears. I remembered through extensive reading of Penny’s blog that she had some R&D Agents in empire space doing datacore research. Also remembered from a long time back that she had an Agent doing Electronic Engineering research and wasn’t sure what else. Amazing sometime what you can remember reading. But since she lived in WH space i figure maybe she wasn’t using the datacores much for research like Invention whenever she collected them other than to sell on the market. So I sent a communication inquiring if she had the type of Electronic datacores and any other kind. And when she did pick them up in empire space if she didn’t mind selling them to be vs just selling them to the market.

I got a fairly quick communication back from my WH space friend that she did have the needed datacores and lots of them and a lot more of 2 other kinds. She asked if I could use the others as well. And fortunately enough it appeared that Penny was also headed to empire space from WH space  as well and could make the trip to visit her agent for the datacores. I really had no idea how much datacores she had to collect. But I agreed I’ll be willing to buy all the datacores she had at a fair price so she can soon be back on her way to WH space. I did some price checking, we quickly communicated and agreed on a price and for the datacores and for entire stock of datacores. It was allot!

So Penny contracted the datacores to me at the agreed price for the entire lot. Luckily I had some cushion in my trading wallet as I accepted a huge contract for 316.29 million ISK in datacores from my WH space friend. That contract put a good dent in my ISK cushion but it was for a good need. Even better only had to make about 4 stargate jumps to go pick up the contracted items. The contract allowed me to pick up 462 Electronic Engineering datacores, 906 Mechanical Engineering datacores and 334 Caldari Starship Engineering datacores. I’ll be able to use them all soon eventually. Seems I’m now swimming in datacores. Hopefully they will last a while for Invention needs as thats a lot of ISK invested in just a few kinds of datacores.

EVE Evolved whats been up to

T2 Transport Ship: Crane

I’ve been in a construction mindset lately. Built my first T2 ship which was a project to build for my trader Alothos since only he can fly it as a transport ship and not me. I’ve been inspired about having one for almost as long as I’ve been jetting around New Eden by a WH blogger that made it seem so cool to cruise in and have one. Its even more prettier in the colors than I have heard about for what seem ages. It was fun to build and put all the nuts and bolts in place. So finally I built one and now it belongs to my other self. Its going to be cool when I finally invent one from a BP.

My very first Battleship: Adaddon

It’s almost been a year since have taken up life as a capsuleer in New Eden and though have owned, trained and flown several smaller ships mostly frigates, coverts ops, industrials, and a battlecruiser I’m just getting around to being able to fly and own my very first battleship. It’s a step up from my long time very first built and currently very much still own Harbinger battlecruiser Pew Pew. So I mine most the minerals and since I already had a BPC for the battleship for a while I went ahead and constructed one putting in all the nuts and bolts. Will use him for doing some lvl 4 missions whenever can get around to doing so, its been about 3 months or so since last visited my agent to do any kind of combat mission.

The new PI been coming along since the incursion changes. Its been more complicated though I have adjusted and learned from those changes and still learning and adapting whenever possible I figure out something new. Needless to say I don’t find it all that easy to explain insights into things that have figure out very little or allot. Much the time is making small changes and seeing the result of things. Adapting to the new changes is constant and even minor changes but adds up allot over time.

Compared to before, some my planets are yielding more and some are yielding less so it kinda even out maybe. However with some lower yielding planets I’ve also configured setups doing multiple extractions/processing. Changing extractions on reset/scanning if it lucrative to do so to extract a different raw material at higher yield in the same general extraction area and process it due to exhausting and shifting resources. At times that has yielded quite a bit of material for processing another raw material while area resources of other materials regenerate over time.

As far as setups for my high sec PI planets, since the PI changes no two planets are even remotely similar in setup or layout. But what appears to me to be working for me is setups where extractors are positioned in such a way that they can reach multiple locations with good scanned supply of resources even as one area seemingly deplete over time. Sometimes its just multiple location setup on the same planet each with launchpad/extractor/processor extracting just a single raw material or multiple raw material on the same planet.

As for P4 activity, made my first full P4 item a lab and sold it on the market for 63M and made a modest profit on the lab as well as all the PI and P4 material used. The plan is to make some more or similar.

Freighter Project

Had plans to build one a Providence, which was going really slow. At the moment its kinda stuck in progress.

Research and Developement

Yesterday decided to go visit a few of my R&D agents that haven’t visited for a while for about the last 2 months at least. They seem far away to make the trip to visit than I last remembered maybe because its been a while since I last made the trip. But visiting 5 of my lvl 4 R&D agents was able to pick up 589 of 5 different kind of datacores that I can either sell or use for Invention purposes. Wanted to make the change to switch up one my R&D agents to research Rocket Science for datacores but then realized had only trained that science skill to level 3 and not 4 to use this particular agent. Didn’t feel like going through the trouble to relocate to a lower level agent somewhere else so will have to wait sometime soon when have time to at least train the skill. Until then research continues.

Have yet to get around to doing any Invention though have the skills. Most my research slots are currently filled with blueprints that’s been waiting days to weeks to finally get material research time. In high sec empire space that’s waiting forever anywhere from 14+ to 25-30+ days just to get an available material research slot to do research. I never keep my BP in material research longer than its necessary but some capsuleers tie up research slots doing research for forever on some BPOs.

But trying to use high sec material research facility is far from being efficient time wise. Have just a few slots dedicated to production efficiency research to do some the backlog of BPO’s I currently have that has already had material research done. At least that goes by much much faster than material research efforts. Will probably at least start doing some invention as some those slots get more freed up.
